KUALA LUMPUR: Main Market-listed Jade Marvel Group Bhd aims to explore more business opportunities in Malaysia's mining and mineral processing fields as part of its growth plans going forward.

Today, the company entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Xinhai Mineral Processing EPC to develop local mineral resources in Malaysia and build a benchmarking project for the general contracting of high-quality mineral processing in Malaysia.

Joint managing director (MD) Datuk David Khoo Yik Chou said for this MoU, the company will concentrate on mining industries as it believes Malaysia is rich in mineral resources that accounts for a significant portion of the country's economy.

Khoo said the company has partnered with Xinhai to bring in the latest mining technologies into Malaysia to help more landowners or mining companies who cannot complete the whole mining process.

"We will help them in terms of technologies, capital as well as in research and development (R&D).

"The company plans to establish a one-stop centre complete with a showroom and laboratory in Kuantan to showcase potential local mining players in Kuantan.

"As for now we, have received some inquiries from local mining companies and players to use the technologies," he told reporters at the MoU signing ceremony between Jade Marvel and Xinhai today.

According to Khoo, the collaboration will see the company setting up a mineral processing laboratory and getting into a joint development to build and cultivate the local mining players while building a strong client's portfolio.

Jade Marvel will be the distributor of Xinhai equipment and products.

"Both companies will provide expertise, consultancy services in management and operation of large-scale industrial mines as well as build and train the technical team for the clients.

"Jade Marvel will appoint Xinhai as the marketing representative in China to export mineral products to China as Xinhai has been involved in the downstream market of all category mineral products," he said.

Xinhai was established in 1997 and started the new mineral processing mode, which provides mineral processing services, including design and research services, complete equipment manufacture, supporting materials and purchasing services, commission and delivery, mine management and mine operation.

Xinhai insisted on marketing interconnection, market internationalisation, manufacturing service, management modernisation, and development innovation.

Xinhai is committed to providing global clients with a complete and high-efficiency mineral processing customised service to solve all the problems about mine management and operation, it said.

Up to now, Xinhai has served more than 2000 mines, completed more than 500 mineral processing engineering projects, exported its products to more than 90 countries and regions, and has more than 70 kinds of ore mining technologies and experiences.
