
TikTok CEO: It's not about the ownership
During the US congressional hearing with TikTok at the US Capitol in Washington, DC on Thursday (March 23), Republican and Democrat lawmakers raised numerous concerns about its potential to threaten US national security by sharing its data with the Chinese government. When asked if TikTok would divest from ByteDance and Chinese Communist Party ties if instructed by the US Treasury, TikTok CEO Chew Shou Zi said: "It's not about the ownership.
