KUALA LUMPUR: Funnyman Kumin, whose real name was Khuzami Ismail, drew his last breath at his house in Taman Lembah Maju, Ampang, at noon today. He was 49.

The sad news was confirmed by his good friend Yank Kassim who received a telephone call from Kumin's wife in the afternoon.

"His wife said that she had gone out to the store to buy some things in the morning. When she returned home, she found Kumin lying on the floor with his face looking all blue.

"As far as I know, he was well after being admitted to the hospital last July due to shortness of breath, hernia and an overabundance of water in his body.

"Aside from that, he also suffered from limited movement of his body," said Yank in a news report today.

Yank added that he had no details yet on when and where Kumin's body would be buried.

Kumin, together with his late friend Bob Kuman, formed the popular duo KU2 back in the 1990s.

As KU2, they released four albums, Motivasi in 1994, Evolusi (1997), Album Baru Aku! (1999) and The Best of KU2 (2001).

Compared to Kuman who had acted a lot, Kumin focussed instead on behind the scenes work and became a production manager.

Kumin and his wife have no children.
