Umrah pilgrim, who went missing 14 days ago in Makkah, found dead
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian umrah pilgrim Rosli Salleh, 62, who was reported missing in Makkah while performing umrah on March 10, was confirmed dead.
His son, Farid Rosli confirmed the matter through a post on a Facebook group, Group Umrah, yesterday.
He said his father, who was supposed to return on March 23, had been found.
"Assalamualaikum. The latest update (report), our family has found our father (Rosli). He passed away there (Makkah).
"We ask that you please pray for our father, ask goodness for him in the afterlife and hopefully we will be united in heaven one day. Amin Insha-Allah," he said.
Farid also thanked those involved in helping the family throughout the search for his father.
"My family is grateful to all those involved in the search for our father and to those who pray for his wellbeing. Thank you. Please don't ask about the details, just leave it there," he said.
He previously asked for the public's help in locating his father after failing to contact him since March 17 when Rosli performed umrah alone without an agent.
