PJ City playing well but not getting results

KUALA LUMPUR: PJ City hope to return to winning ways when they entertain Sabah in a Super League match at the MBPJ Stadium tomorrow.

The club have not won a league game since the 3-0 victory over Terengganu on April 6.

Coach P. Maniam said: "Everyone has raised this matter, but I am not too concerned about our recent results.

"My players are playing well, and I am happy with their performances.

"We just need a win to get back on track.

"We have to remain positive and try to achieve our top-five target," said Maniam, whose team are ninth in the standings with two wins and five draws from 11 matches.

Maniam foresees a difficult match against second-placed Sabah, who hope to make amends for their quarter-final exit from the FA Cup to Selangor last weekend.

"We have not played a match since last Wednesday, while Sabah did so on Saturday.

"However, it will not offer us any advantage as Sabah have a big squad and will likely rotate their players.

"We played good football in our last two games against KL City (0-0) and Melaka United (2-2) and were unlucky not to earn maximum points. I hope we will be lucky this time.

"Sabah coach Ong Kim Swee is a good tactician, and he knows how we play our game.

"We have to maintain our tactical structure against the Rhinos," said Maniam, adding that midfielder Nasir Basharudin will not be available today due to injury.
