Baru-baru ini, Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia mendedahkan, jumlah pesakit yang menghidap penyakit buah pinggang kronik (CKD) sangat membimbangkan dengan lebih 9,000 pesakit perlu menjalani rawatan dialisis setiap setahun.
Di peringkat global, lebih 850 juta individu berdepan penyakit itu. Di Malaysia, ia membabitkan 1 daripada setiap 7 rakyat Malaysia.
Apabila Tinjauan Kesihatan dan Morbiditi Kebangsaan 2019 mendapati, 1.7 juta individu dalam negara ini menghidap 3 rangkaian penyakit tak berjangkit iaitu diabetes, hipertensi dan kolesterol tinggi, kerisauan itu semakin memuncak.
Masakan tidak, diabetes, hipertensi termasuk kolestrol antara yang boleh memicu kepada penyakit buah pinggang.
