There are many various Joker projects currently in the works. Warner Bros. and DC have realised that they've found possibly the only bankable villain in the comic book world in the Joker-and they want to cash in on it. I've often said that the studio is making every possible effort to ruin the character by over saturating the market with too many films and portrayals. I don't care if it's Leonardo DiCaprio or Joaquin Phoenix playing the Joker-let it go.

There is one situation, however, in which I would fully enjoy a new Joker movie: If Nicolas Cage is playing him. As the actor told Joblo.com recently:

I mean, I think my comic book days are kind of...I'm on to other things, but I always thought I'd make a great Joker and I always thought that I would've been a good villain in one of the Marvel [movies] like Doctor Doom. But, Doctor Doom you have to wear that mask, but I thought the story leading up to Doctor Doom could've been interesting. At this point if I was to go back into the format it would probably have to be as a villain.

(Photo by Danny Moloshok/Invision/AP) Can you think of anything more unsettling than Nicolas Cage, completely unhinged, wearing clown make-up? I'm sick of these gritty villains. I'm sick of Leto's Hot Topic Joker. I'm sick of actors trying to live up to Heath Ledger. Let's have some big screen comic book cheese. Let's have something so bonkers and weird that it's downright scary. Let's let our boy Cage scream at a camera for a few hours.

Hell yes.
