The Masked Singer spoilers follow.

The Masked Singer US has unmasked yet another celebrity, with the slightly sinister Robopine becoming the next contender to leave the competition.

Following a recent double unmasking, the reality series went back to basics and revealed the identity of just one of its stars in yesterday's (May 5) episode, after Robopine lost out to Yeti, Piglet, Black Swan, Russian Dolls, and Chameleon in the latest round.

Despite a clue package that even Robopine themselves called "a little obvious", Nicole Scherzinger was the only judge on the panel to guess the character's true identity correctly.

The star behind the Robopine mask? Why, Fast & Furious' Tyrese Gibson, of course.

The musician and actor – who plays Roman Pearce in the Fast franchise – opened up about his Masked Singer experience after his exit, admitting that he tried to "throw as many people off" as possible with his backstory.

"I said I was 60 years old. I said I had two grandkids and I was from Costa Rica. So I was trying to throw a haymaker in there and really throw people off," he said (via Entertainment Weekly).

A little irked that Robopine's last clue package included a reference to his former Fast & Furious co-star and friend, the late Paul Walker, Tyrese added: "I wanted them to go as far as they could to not have any clues and hints that people would be able to put two and two together.

"So if you said you had a really close friend that passed away that's a co-star/movie star, they're gonna be like, 'Well, clearly that's Tyrese'.

"The Paul Walker of it all, I didn't want to create any buzzkills you know, because it's such a tragedy, right? I respect the show, but I just kind of thought that particular hint was a little obvious."

Tyrese went on to say that he would certainly do the series again – and would even encourage his friends to give The Masked Singer a chance.

"I would definitely encourage my friends to do it who would probably never think Masked Singer would ever fall on their radar," he concluded. "Because I kind of had my own moment of, 'Oh, no, what is this?'

"You get to a certain point in your career, man – you just can't do everything and say yes to everything that comes across your desk. [But] my motivation became my daughter. I can't say it enough – my 13-year-old gets the credit for me doing this show."

The Masked Singer US airs on Fox, while its UK equivalent airs on ITV.
