Former Farmer Wants a Wife stars Rob Hodges and Joanna Fincham made a surprise return to the hit Channel Seven reality series on Wednesday night.

The fan favourites first fell in love on the show 13 years ago, having appeared on season two back in 2008.

The couple are now happily married and share three children together, and gave some advice to their friend farmer Will, 39, during the finale.

The pair apparently nominated Will to be on the show this season.

'You just have to dive in,' Jo told Will about his decision to choose a winner.

Referring to her husband Rob, she added: 'You [Rob] always said as well it was a good experience and if you met someone at the end it's a bonus.'

Will joked that the couple were desperate for their friend to find love on the show so they can go to a wedding.

'I think I owe Rob and Jo a Farmer Wants a Wife wedding, so I have to see what I can do for them,' he said with a laugh.

After the appearance, Pilates instructor Jo said she was 'so honoured' to return to the series.

Fans also loved the blast from the past, with one writing on Instagram: 'Rob and Jo. The very best of the best!'

Another added: 'Love, love Rob and Jo I was so happy to see them and there beautiful family missed the old series.'

One fan also commented on how good Jo looks and how she hasn't aged a day since appearing on the show.

'Can we discuss how wonderful Jo looks? Benjamin Button!' they wrote.

In July 2019, Jo spoke to Mamamia about her life and raising her family on Rob's South Australian cattle farm.

'It really makes me happy, going out and helping on the farm. I love it,' she said during the wide-ranging interview.

However, living on a farm has its downside, with Jo admitting to the publication that she and Rob found natural disasters such as drought very stressful.

Back in 2008, Jo gave up her job as a Melbourne newspaper photographer to restart her life on Rob's rural property.
