Jake Cornish is not looking for romance following his split from Liberty Poole.

The former 'Love Island' contestant - who appeared on this year's series of the ITV2 dating show - admitted he's not rushing into another relationship so soon after leaving the villa.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Not really looking at the moment, I've been out three days, I've had my phone for a week!

"So right now my priority is spending time with the family, spending time with the friends who I've not seen for 10-12 weeks.

"Just letting everything happen naturally you know? Just see what's what."

The marketing student explained how much his life has changed since appearing on the show, and he's already "trying to adapt".

Speaking at the 'Rise of the Footsoldier Origins' premiere on Wednesday (01.09.21), he added: "Just coming out to people, the public, of all different ages coming up to me and saying 'can we get get a picture?'

"It's gone from little three-year-old babies to seventy-five-year-old nans saying 'can I have a picture?' And I'm like 'yeah yeah course!'

"I've only been out three days now and I'm trying to adapt very very quick is something you've got to get used to I suppose!"

Even being at the event itself has been a surreal experience, with Jake suggesting he's going to have to take everything in his stride.

He said: "When I got the invite for this - tell any of my boys, this is my favourite film, yeah?

"So to get this - I got an email that pinged up on my phone and I was like 'yeah yeah yeah!' Even if I came on my own, I'd still be here.

"Just adapting straightaway to the outside world is something you've gotta get used to; as I said, I've only been out three days, it is mental!"

While it's been a whirlwind, Jake noted he's got the support of ITV bosses when it comes to making that adjustment.

He revealed: "They're very good, they're a phone call away, the support is brilliant - that's the main thing. Having someone to speak to is the main thing.

"I've got good people around me, and good friends, good family - so, like I say, a phone call away is all you need you know."

Jake Cornish attended the 'Rise of The Footsoldier Origins' Premiere on Wednesday 1st September at Cineworld, Leicester Square, due to be released in Cinemas across the UK from Friday 3rd September. For more information, head to and follow @footsoldierfilm on Instagram.
