Seeing the Northern Lights has been revealed as the bucket list experience Brits are most excited about when travelling once again becomes possible.

The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on holiday plans, but a nationwide study conducted by easyJet has revealed that UK holidaymakers are still dreaming about their future travel plans.

The study unveiled the top 20 experiences that Brits are bookmarking for their future trips. (You can check out the full list below).

Top of the list is seeing the Aurora Borealis in Iceland. After all, the country is renowned for offering heaps of the best places to see the Northern Lights.

If the natural phenomenon is on your bucket list, the good news is that you don't need to go abroad to see them - you can see the Northern Lights in the UK, with a few hotspots offering up ideal conditions.

It wasn't just the Northern Lights which have Brits dreaming of their next trip.

Watching the sunset in Santorini was deemed the second best travel experience, no doubt thanks to the Greek island's white-washed walls, iconic blue domes and tavernas where sunset cocktails make for a dreamy experience.

The third bucket list experience went to Tenerife, where the sandy beaches are leaving Brits dreaming about being back on the shore and feeling the sand between their toes.

The easyJet research revealed that 45% of UK holidaymakers have been craving new holiday experiences since lockdown, with the average Brit not having had a sunshine holiday for over a year.

In fact, nearly a third of Brits admitted that they daydream about their next getaway almost every single day.

And while UK holidays do offer everything from seaside escapes to countryside retreats and city breaks, one in five admitted that it wasn't quite the same as a summer holiday abroad.
