A day after retaining his WBA welterweight title with his victory over American boxer Adrien Broner, Manny Pacquiao made time to attend a Bible study in Las Vegas and thank his fans and supporters, according to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Monday by Mav Gonzales.

Despite a wound in his eye area, Pacquiao was cheerful when he arrived at the Michael Jackson Theater at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, with his arm around his wife Jinkee.

A patch also covered the champ's left eye.

Hundreds cheered as Pacquiao arrived at the Bible study which also served as his thanksgiving celebration after a unanimous decision victory over Broner on Sunday (PHL time).

After the Bible study, Manny and Jinkee went up on stage to thank his supporters and fans.

He also thanked God for protecting not just him but also the undercards.

Pacquiao told the crowd he has a scratch on his left eye and that it hurts. He added that he experienced it before on his right eye, so maybe next time it won't happen anymore.

"My strength comes from God. I hope you're happy for my performance. I really did my best at age 40," he said.

Prayers were then offered for the Pacquiaos' safe return to the Philippines.

Before the fight, Pacquiao promised a photo opportunity with his fans. However, he only managed to have a groufie with them. —KG, GMA News
