2 low-pressure areas spotted off Aparri, Subic

MANILA, Philippines — Two low-pressure areas have been spotted off Aparri in Cagayan and Subic in Zambales, state weather forecasters said yesterday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the weather disturbance in Cagayan might develop into a tropical depression within 12 to 24 hours.

PAGASA also said the southwest monsoon is affecting Southern Tagalog, the Visayas and Mindanao.

“Bataan, Batangas, Cavite, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Western Visayas, Zambales, Zamboanga Peninsula and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will have cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms,” PAGASA said.

Metro Manila, Bicol region, the rest of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Central Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms.

PAGASA said the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
