Already working with a skeleton staff ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on June 30, the Bureau of Immigration on Tuesday announced that it will suspend its operations on the day of the event itself.

The agency advised clients to visit other BI extension offices to avoid inconveniences.

Several government offices including the Supreme Court and Manila Station of the Court of Appeals earlier declared they will suspend work from June 29 to June 30 amid the road closures and traffic rerouting in the city.

The Commission on Elections, for its part, said all employees of the Comelec Main Office, Offices of the Regional Election Director for the National Capital Region, Region 4A and 4B, and Office of the Election Officer, City of Manila will be working from home from June 28 to June 29 but operations will be suspended on June 30. — Sundy Locus/BM, GMA News
