MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will go after websites that continue to operate e-sabong despite the ban imposed by former president Rodrigo Duterte.

DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy said they would set up a task force to effectively monitor the operations of online cockfights.

Uy said the department would intensify the campaign against websites that promote e-sabong.

Former acting DICT secretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic turned over yesterday the helm of the department to Uy during a virtual ceremony.

Uy expressed his support for President Marcos’ plans to accelerate the country’s infrastructure through digitalization.
