ALL policies regarding the government's pandemic response and determination of alert levels nationwide remain on status quo until President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. names a new Health chief, Malacañang said.

The Chief Executive has yet to fill up the remaining vacant posts in his Cabinet, including those in the Department of Health (DoH) and Department of Energy (DoE).

Until then, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID), as well as coronavirus disease-related guidelines will remain for now.

"Everything is status quo. So, we will also have to wait for the next Secretary of Health to make a policy recommendation on that," Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said in a briefing, noting that candidates for the unfilled posts are now in the final stage of evaluation.

"The President is quite aware and in fact one of the priorities is managing the effects of this pandemic. So, you must also understand that this is so important. They must look very closely and carefully at the candidates," she added.
