2 policemen shot dead in Pampanga

FIVE unidentified armed suspects shot dead at close range two policemen conducting an anti-illegal drugs operation in Pampanga on Saturday, December 3.

Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director BGen. Cesar Pasiwen identified the two slain officers as SMS. Sofronio Capitle Jr. and SSgt. Dominador Gacusan Jr., both of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Mabalacat Police Station in Pampanga.

Pasiwen immediately ordered Pampanga police director Col. Levi Basilio to conduct an in-depth and thorough investigation of the case.

According to a police report, Capitle and Gacusan were killed at 3:04 a.m. on Saturday in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City by five unidentified suspects wearing bonnets and armed with unknown caliber of firearms on board two motorcycles.

The two policemen were in the area to conduct a narcotics operation.

Pasiwen said that no stone will be left unturned and authorities are exerting all efforts to bring the perpetrators of the slain policemen to justice.
