James Harden declared Manila his favorite place in the world during his meet and greet event with Filipino fans on Wednesday evening at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

During a fast talk interview, the Hourston Rockets superstar was asked to name is favorite place in the world, and almost expectedly, he said "Manila."

James returned to Philippines for his fourth visit in the country, skipping the NBA awards night where he finished second in the Most Valuable Player voting.

"For people who haven't been here, who don't know how passionate you guys and how much love for the game of basketball you guys have, it's hard for me to kinda explain it to them," Harden said.

The 2018 MVP said Filipinos' love for hoops is best understood by coming to the country to feel and enjoy the passion of the fans.

Harden met the Philippine wheelchair basketball team in his first day of his visit and spent the next day playing parlor games with his fans in the Free to Harden event.

A selection of collegiate and PBA players, including Kobe Paras, Jerrick Ahanmisi, Diego Dario, Aljon Mariano, Bright Akhuetie, and JJ Alejandro, also tried to execute Harden's signature move, the step back jumper.

Harden capped the night by taking selfies and signing autographs for the Pinoy fans.

"Thank you guys for having me. I appreciate it. I'll continue to show love to Manila and the Filipino fans," Harden said. — LA, GMA News
