Here are some of our top pics for the best apps out there for business owners…

For communicating with your team: Slack

Slack is basically Facebook messenger for professionals, and it’s a pretty clever way of keeping up with all of your staff so everyone knows what they’re at.

Of course, Whatsapp works just as well for some groups, but Slack allows you to share links, photos and audio clips on desktop as well as mobile, so it might be handier if you’re working from the office and want to keep in touch with someone else who’s out and about.

For sharing images and files: Dropbox

Trying to email a bunch of photos or files can be a nightmare, which is what makes a service like Dropbox so handy.

How it works is you select a number of files, photos, audio clips or videos to share, and it then sends an email to whomever you’re sharing the content with, which contains a link for them to download or view all of the data.

For communicating with subscribers/clients:  MailChimp

Sure, you could send out mass emails to all of your subscribers or clients, but if you’re looking to jazz things up again with links, photos and infographics, MailChimp will be your best friend.

If you’re trying to reach a lot of people at once, Mail Chimp can be very efficient, and being able to send ‘test emails’ to yourself to see what it will look like before sending it to everyone is a great way of double checking for mistakes.

For managing projects: Asana

Asana is a service which basically helps you to coordinate and manage all of your team projects in the one place.

You’ll be able to keep track of everything from marketing campaigns to targets and goals for the future in an efficient and straight-forward manner.

For keeping track of bills and invoices: Xero

Xero works by helping small business owners and accountants to create invoice templates, keep a record of bills, manage bank transactions, and also provides reminders for making payments.

The mobile app is especially handy so you can keep track of spending, expense claims, and send invoices while on the go.

It also has a clever system which will let you know when customers have received and opened their invoices.

For Human Resource management: BambooHR

Bamboo HR software works by helping improve your strategy and efficiency when it comes to hiring employees, and keeping track of their details.

The service allows you to input data such as: schedules and rotas, annual leave records, performance reviews, and prospective employee info, so you can keep everything you need for your employee welfare all in the one place.

Each of these apps provide very useful tools to help make running your business easier than ever, no matter what your industry!
