With early starts for gym classes, followed by a mad dash to the office, it pays to know how to get your skin from sweaty Betty to sleek missy in record time.

We all love a relaxed session getting the perfect cat eye, but with time at a premium it pays to have a few shortcuts on deck to help you shave vital minutes off how long it takes to make you look good.

Even before you start putting on the make-up, ensuring you maintain a good skincare regime is the first step, and will make things a lot easier when it comes to getting your face on quickly.

Read on for our shortcuts to looking fabulous in record time.

Start with clean skin

Having a good base and clean skin can make all the difference when applying your make-up. Sand & Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask is a unique 4-in-1 mask that detoxifies and brightens skin to ensure your base is as flawless as possible in just 10 minutes. It shrinks and refines pores, regulates sebum and reduces pigmentation for a glowing, radiant complexion, all from one pot.

Lay the foundations

“Use powder foundation all over the face instead of liquid to save adding powder over the top. During summer months powder foundation can be mixed with your moisturiser to make a tinted moisturiser,” explains make-up artist and blogger Joyce O’ Connor.

Multitask your products

“Use all-in-one cream products for cheeks and lips, dab onto cheeks and lips and then blend with your fingers,” continues Joyce. Or if you want a quick glow, she recommends using one of your favourite highlighters multiple times. “Highlighter can be applied to the brow bone, Cupid’s bow and cheek bones to make those areas glow,” she smiles. Saving you both time and money!

Double duty

Some of your fave products can actually target a multitude of beauty sins.

“Eye cream doubles as lip balm, its soothing, hydrating and nourishing for the delicate skin around eyes and on lips,” says Joyce. While nourishing or hydrating face masques are great for using around dry cuticles. “Sleep with product on your cuticle area overnight and rinse off in the morning,” she says.

Create sexy eyes in a rush

Apply lashings of mascara to top and bottom lashes for sultry rock chick eyes. After applying mascara, use the tip of the mascara wand to push product into the roots of the lashes. And if you don’t have time to tend your brows, many models like Cara Delevingne use a tinted brow gel like Eyeko's excellent Brow Gel to groom brows for a fashionably tamed look. As well as making them look fuller, it will set them and add a slick of colour.

Put a ring finger on it

To achieve a natural finish on your lips, use your ring finger to apply a bright lip shade without the hassle of using a lip liner. The ring finger perfectly fits the lip area, and using this quirky method helps you to achieve a natural, and beautiful finish.
