Singapore and UAE deepen collaborations on tech and skills development

The government will help UAE in digital trade documents, fintech, and other innovations.

Singapore and the United Arab Emirates reaffirmed their future collaborations which include science and technology, industry development, and skills development.

In a statement, the government said the Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) node in Abu Dhabi was put up by Enterprise Singapore for Singapore firms to access growing areas and connect with business and tech communities in the region.

Under the plans, Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) will also collaborate with Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) on Phase II of the exchange of digital trade documents.

NUS Asian Institute of Digital Finance and ADGM Academy will also collaborate on Fintech solutions.

A strategic partnership was also signed between NIE International and Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) to cooperate in the education sector in areas such as governance and policy, training programs and capacity building.

A potential collaboration in green and digital shipping and initiatives to enhance food trade were also talked about between the two territories.
