'The Addams Family' cast throughout the years

'The Addams Family' has been around ever since Charles Addams’ original comics were published in 1938, but it was not until 1964 that a live-action adaptation was made. There have been several reincarnations of the dark and bizarre family ever since, with the most recent being the Netflix series 'Wednesday.'

Lisa Loring, who starred as Wednesday in the original live-action series from 1964-1966, fortunately got to see the newest iteration of her role before she died on January 28 of a stroke. She was 64. Her daughter Vanessa Foumberg reportedly confirmed the news and added, “She went peacefully with both her daughters holding her hands." Loring's influence on the development of Wednesday's character, specifically with her shimmying frug dance, gained renewed attention with Jenna Ortega's homage.
