A rivalry between Ford and Holden (General Motors) continues the theme. One example of the high-performance Holden HSV GTS-R sedan was imported to the U.S. in the early 2000s. A relative of the Cadillac Catera, it combines an LS1 V-8 engine with a six-speed manual transmission. The car would be used in development testing for the 2004 Pontiac GTO, and was even said to have been driven by GM President, Bob Lutz. More recently, it went under the hammer at the 2019 Mecum Indy auction.
