
Toyota’s Solid State Battery Only 2-3 Years Away, Debuts in Hybrids - CES 2022

Toyota is well along in developing its solid state batteries for electric cars, says Gill Pratt, Toyota’s Chief Scientist and head of the Toyota Research Institute. But those batteries will debut in hybrids because the duty cycle is much more challenging than in BEVs. He also provides an update on Toyota’s autonomous technology, including what it calls Guardian and Chauffeur.
