State police said a 2018 Porche Macan, driven by Tyler Troy, 22, of Northfield, was on the Route 1 Bypass South approaching the Portsmouth Traffic Circle when it left the road onto a curbed divider, entered the traffic circle, and then into the grass median, causing the Porsche to overturn several times.

In addition to Troy, there were five other people in the Porche, and several were thrown from the vehicle.

Four people in the car were taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

Another person and Troy were taken to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

About five hours after the crash, one of the people died at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. State police identified the female victim as Drew Ceppetelli, 21, of Barrington, New Hampshire.

Immediately following the crash, Portsmouth police officers were nearby, and a number of passing motorists stopped at the scene to render aid to the occupants until emergency medical services got there, state police said.

Impairment and excessive speed were identified as potential factors in the crash, but all aspects remain under investigation, state police said.

State police said while troopers were investigating the scene and emergency personnel worked to remove the Porsche and debris, the Portsmouth Traffic Circle was closed and traffic was diverted for about 5 hours but reopened around 6:30 a.m.
