Choreographed drone Fourth of July show complements Edmond LibertyFest fireworks this year
If you’re planning on attending Edmond’s LibertyFest fireworks show Monday night, you can expect to see a new form of entertainment in the sky along with the fireworks.

The fireworks will still soar at Hafer Park, but so will 30 drones.
Sign up for our Newsletters“It will be about an eight-minute-long show choreographed to the music with the radio station 90.1 and shortly after within a few seconds that will be the fireworks,” said Brad Snelling, director of operations for Dynamic Skies.
Dynamic Skies is one of the few companies in the United States that uses computerized, coordinated drone shows.
They say they spent about 50 hours programming the Edmond show.
"They're going to go up about 400 feet in the sky, and I won’t give away too many secrets but you can guess they'll be patriotic-themed formations moving around the sky and flashing different colors choreographed to the music,” he said.
He said that while Edmond opted for drones and fireworks, some cities are doing away with the traditional shows in favor of the high-tech ones.
"There’s no debris, and they are renewable, and if you can imagine it you can create it up in the sky with these lights. They can do any color, they can do any shape, they move around, and so it’s really fun to design the shows and exercise some creative element,” he said.
