Watch an Audi RS 6 Avant Take on a Porsche 911 Turbo S and Taycan
The Audi RS 6 Avant's 3.3 second 0-60 time might be a previously-unimaginable feat for a wagon, but, in the world of German all-wheel-drive performance cars, it is the expectation. Porsche, Audi's once and future rival at Le Mans, makes two such cars, each branded as a Turbo S. You can see where this is going.

Motorsport Magazine brought the RS 6 to a runway to face off against Porsche's Taycan Turbo S and 992-generation 911 Turbo S. A competition between a performance wagon, an all-electric sedan, and a sports car with a half-century legacy may seem strange, but they are each other's closest rivals: all-wheel-drive grand tourers from the same company that provide completely different ideas of what performance and luxury look like together.
The RS 6 may be quick, but the results are unsurprising. The Taycan pulls ahead early, while the 911 and RS 6 stay together at the start. Almost immediately, the 911 gets its footing, and the drag race between the two Porsches looks quite a lot like the last time someone pitted the 911 Turbo S and Taycan Turbo S head-to-head. The 911 Turbo S completes the.62-mile race in 18.9 seconds on an unprepared surface, beating the Taycan, which clocks in at 19.7 seconds. The Audi is a little bit slower than either Porsche, finishing at 21.3 seconds.
The RS 6 is quick, but keeping up with Porsche's high-end grand tourers is no simple task for any car with the amenities and cargo space required of a luxury wagon. Of course, if beating a 911 Turbo S in a drag race is a requirement for your station wagon, the aftermarket already has a solution for you.
