Polishing is an important step in the car-cleaning process, and it's something any diligent enthusiast should learn how to do. Larry Kosilla of AMMO NYC put together an incredibly detailed video showing you how to go about polishing your car in a safe, efficient manner, while being careful not to damage the paint. The process is more complex than you think.

Before you even start the polishing process, you need to make sure your car has been washed, and is free of any dirt, dust, or other contaminants that might get in the way. You can do this via a traditional wash, plus compressed air afterwards to clear off anything else that's accumulated after the car dries.

The actual polishing process involves a ton of steps to make sure you don't damage your paint as a result of all that friction, all of which Kosilla lays out in the video above. Check it out for yourself.
