The 2010 Toyota Tundra has strong engines and spacious cabs, but some rivals offer nicer interiors.

The 2010 Toyota Tundra is ranked:

Reviewers said that the 2010 Tundra rides like a truck, meaning that the steering doesn’t give a lot of feedback and the ride is bouncy. They noted that some rivals have more comfortable rides. The 2010 Tundra was offered with a base V6 and two V8 options. Most reviewers tested models equipped with the biggest V8, and they agreed that this engine makes the Tundra feel like one of the fastest trucks in the class. A two-wheel drive Tundra with the 4.7-liter V8, the most fuel-efficient engine available, averages 15/20mpg city/highway, which is average for the class. The Tundra can tow up to 10,800 pounds when equipped with the 5.7-liter V8.

Reviewers generally agreed that the Tundra’s interior falls short of its rivals. They said that the materials that adorn much of the cabin seem cheap in comparison to those found in the redesigned trucks from Dodge and Ford. Still, they found the Tundra’s cabin roomy and spacious, with comfortable seats in the front and back. A regular cab Tundra can seat three, while the two-row Double (extended) and crew cabs have seating for up to six. Standard features include dual-zone manual climate control and a four-speaker stereo with an auxiliary input jack and satellite radio capability. Upper trims and option packs added features like power windows, locks and mirrors, a 10-speaker JBL stereo, Bluetooth, leather seats, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, an upgraded stereo, a backup camera, a power moonroof and navigation.

Other Trucks to Consider

Reviewers said the 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 is one of the most comfortable-riding trucks in the class. They also liked its interior, which they said has good fit and finish.

Reviewers liked the 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 for its high-quality cabin and comfortable, refined ride. They also liked its available V8 engines, saying they provide ample power for towing, hauling or general driving.
