Friends star Matthew Perry is thankfully on the mend after a scary health crisis forced him into emergency surgery.

A spokesperson for the actor appealed for privacy on his behalf on Tuesday (August 7) as 48-year-old Perry begins the long road to recovery from a gastrointestinal perforation, according to People.
"Matthew Perry recently underwent surgery in a Los Angeles hospital to repair a gastrointestinal perforation," his representative said. "He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals."

Prior to his recent health struggles, Matthew has kept busy following the surprising cancellation of his CBS series The Odd Couple after three seasons in the spring of 2017.
He recently reprised his Good Wife role of Mike Kresteva in CBS All Access spin-off The Good Fight, in addition to executive producing and starring in historical miniseries The Kennedys After Camelot.
