Mariah Carey looked happy and confident while out and about in Paris on Thursday.

The "Hero" singer was photographed all smiles while wearing a burgundy, body-hugging gown that showed off her apparently slimmer frame. The singer paired her dress with a black leather jacket and accessorized with hoop earrings and black sunglasses, Entertainment Tonight reported.

The "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer has just returned to the stage to kick off her holiday tour. Earlier, she was forced to postpone her concert due to an illness. Carey's next stop is at the Accor Hotels Arena in Paris on Saturday.

The "Touch My Body" singer recently underwent a gastric sleeve surgery to shrink the size of her stomach, numerous reports claimed last month. Prior to the speculated procedure, Carey was reportedly "extremely insecure about her weight."

"She always fluctuates and it makes her upset," a source told ET. "She lives in denial about it; she has the tags cut out of clothes, so she can be blissfully unaware of her size."

Meanwhile, a second source revealed that the surgery has made Carey happier and more confident in her body. "This is a new beginning for her," the insider said.

In related news, Carey received a multimillion-dollar settlement from her ex-fiancé James Packer. The exes got engaged in January 2016 and split in October of the same year. Following their breakup, the diva reportedly asked for "inconvenience free" from the billionaire. The exact amount of the settlement was not disclosed, but aside from it, Carey is keeping the $10 million engagement ring.

"She still has the ring and wears it now on her middle finger," the source added. "They 100 percent have not spoken for a year, maybe even longer than that."

Meanwhile, Packer, 50, expressed his regrets from dating the "When You Believe" songstress. According to the businessman mogul, their relationship was a mistake.

"I was at a low point in my personal life," Packer said. "She was kind, exciting and fun. Mariah is a woman of substance. But it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me."
