Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo cosied up to their Wicked co-star Michelle Yeoh in London on Sunday.

The mega-talented women all star together in the forthcoming Wicked film, and over the weekend, Ariana and Cynthia, 29 and 36 respectively, joined 60-year-old Michelle for a private party at swanky restaurant The Aubrey at the Mandarin Oriental hotel to celebrate her Oscar win earlier this month.

Michelle scooped a coveted Academy Award during the March 13 ceremony for her role in sci-fi adventure Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Posting a photo on Instagram of herself and her co-stars sharing a hug, Ariana wrote: ‘We love you so much it hurts.’

Michelle’s bash at Japanese Izakaya restaurant The Aubrey – a favourite of Rita Ora and where Joséphine de La Baume held her recent baby shower – was a star-studded affair, with the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy also in attendance.

They toasted with champagne while enjoying a to-die-for menu including the restaurant’s famous charcoal chicken karaage with yuzu mayo, vegetable maki and pork belly skewers.

While Michelle plays the role of Madame Morrible in the Wicked movies, set for release in 2024 and 2025, Break Free crooner Ariana steps into Glinda’s shoes and Cynthia will portray Elphaba.

Cynthia and Ariana both announced in November 2021 that they’d be starring opposite each other in Wicked.

Kristin Chenoweth – who was the first person to take on the role of Glinda when Wicked premiered on Broadway in 2003 – previously shared her opinion on how Ariana will approach the role.

Kristin, 54, said she thinks the popstar will add her own flare to her portrayal of the Good Witch and admitted she was proud of the chart-topper for stepping up to play the part.

Sitting down with Andy Cohen for Watch What Happens Live, Kristin was questioned over producers’ choice to cast the 7 Rings singer in the films.

Admitting she had already Ariana about the opportunity, she said: ‘She’s going to put her own stamp on it. I’m so proud of her. I wanted her to do her Glinda. And that’s what she’s doing. I’m proud of her.’
