Lea Michele Opens Up About Backlash From 'Glee' Costars

Lea Michele has spoken about the backlash she received from 'Glee' costars in 2020 when they accused her of creating a toxic environment. In 2020, Samantha Maire Ware said Michele made her first tv gig a “living hell” and made several “traumatic microaggressions” towards her. This led to other cast members speaking out against Michele, including Heather Morris who claimed she was “unpleasant” to work with. Michele released a statement at the time apologizing and taking full responsibility for her actions. In a recent interview, the 'Funny Girl' star revealed that she has done “a lot of personal reach-outs” over the past two years. The actress said the conversations she has had with people “behind the scenes” have been “incredibly healing and very eye-opening”. Michele will never blame “anything on the things that [she’s] been through in [her] life” but also ‘can’t ignore those experiences or deny them”. Her current role in 'Funny Girl' allowed her to “introduce people to who I am now” and “apply” the things she has learned over the years.
