Are Y’all Excited? Jennifer Lopez Announces New Album ‘This Is Me… Now’ On 20th Anniversary Of Her Third Record, ‘This Is Me… Then’

Jennifer Lopez returned to social media on Friday to announce her upcoming ninth album, “This Is Me… Now,” along with the full tracklist. As previously reported, JLo had turned her social media profile photos black earlier this week, which left many people speculating whether she was gearing up the excitement of what could be a new record — well, the predictions were right after all.

The “On The Floor” singer posted a video of herself in a recreated artwork shot of her 2002 third album, “This Is Me… Then,” which then transitions over to the modern-day version of JLo on her new album cover, as she declares, “This is me… now.” For her accompanying caption, Jennifer further revealed the full tracklist, which is comprised of 13 songs — one of which is titled “Dear Ben Pt. II.”

The announcement comes on the 20th anniversary of her third offering, which remains one of Jennifer’s best-selling albums to date, having sold over 6 million copies worldwide and spanning the iconic singles “Jenny from the Block,” “All I Have,” “I’m Glad,” and “Baby I Love U.” The forthcoming album is Jennifer’s first since releasing “A.K.A.” back in 2014.

The mother of two had been teasing fans with the possibility of a new album for several months now, having told Vogue earlier this year that she’d been working on new music, though it was still unclear as to whether the body of work would be released in the near future or whether she was still in the phase of just recording new material.

“This album is the most honest thing I have done, a culmination of who I am as a person and an artist,” she told the magazine. “People think they know things about what happened to me along the way — but they really have no idea, and a lot of times they get it so wrong. There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone. And I.”

As for what fans can expect from “This Is Me… Now,” the album is promised to show the chronicles of “the emotional, spiritual and psychological journey that she has taken over the past two decades.” And the fact that she has another song dedicated to her now-husband Ben Affleck is a true giveaway that her eighth album is bound to be a personal record.
