Nick Carter Sued For Alleged Rape Of 17-Year-Old On Tour Bus

Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter is being sued for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl on a tour bus during the band’s 2001 Black & Blue tour. Shannon Ruth filed a sexual battery lawsuit claiming the singer picked her out of a line of fans and invited her onto his tour bus. Ruth, who has autism and cerebral palsy says Carter gave her a pink drink he called “VIP juice” that tasted alcoholic. He then supposedly forced her to perform oral sex on him and pushed her onto a bed and performed oral sex on her before raping her. Carter allegedly told her to “shh” and said it would be their “special secret”. In a statement, Ruth said “the last 21 years have been filled with pain, confusion, frustration, shame, and self-harm” because of the rape. Carter has denied the allegations and claimed that Ruth “has been manipulated into making false allegations about Nick”. This comes after Melissa Schuman sued Carter in 2017 for allegedly sexually assaulting her in 2003. Prosecutors investigating Schuman's claims declined to file the case as the allegation was outside the 10-year statute of limitations.
