Who Plays Dr. Jessica Bruno on ‘A Million Little Things’? Meet Bresha Webb
Dr. Jessica Bruno is in the room and she’s coming for Maggie Bloom.
The fifth and final season of A Million Little Things premiered on ABC February 8, and though we’re only two episodes in, it’s clear that a new character is coming to shake up Maggie (Allison Miller) and Gary’s (James Roday Rodriguez) world. As if it hasn’t been shaken up enough!?
Bruno, played by Bresha Webb, was introduced in Season 5, Episode 2 “Think Twice.” But the previews for Season 5, Episode 3 “In The Room” make it clear we haven’t seen the last of her yet. Before she takes Maggie and Gary on an emotional roller coaster, let’s refresh our memories, shall we?
Who is Dr. Jessica Bruno on A Million Little Things? And what do we know about Bresha Webb, the actor who plays her? Here’s everything we know about the Season 5 character.
Who Is Dr. Jessica Bruno on A Million Little Things? As noted, Bruno was introduced in Season 5, Episode 2 “Think Twice.” The character, played by Bresha Webb, is Gary’s therapist, and we see the two meeting to discuss his appreciation for Maggie and his struggle to help her during her pregnancy.
“It just feels like I’m stepping on booby traps. There’s a lactation joke in there I just can’t summon it,” he told a giggling Bruno. When he pointed at her laughing and exclaimed “10 points for me!” she reminded him that they don’t keep score and explained that pregnancies can be “a huge identity shift.” When Gary asked if she was a parent she dodged the question and told him, “It sounds like Maggie’s spiraling a bit, and maybe taking it out on her safe person. Supporting her might look less like trying to make it OK and more like encouraging her through the rough parts.”
Before Gary left the office he made a joke about being Bruno’s favorite client, then he tried to show up for Maggie at work by bringing anti-nausea wristbands and stepping in and giving advice as “Gar on the air.” Aside from her pregnancy-related nausea, Maggie was also stressing over work because she needed to talk to her boss Colton Cutler (David Walton) about her planned maternity leave. He winds up giving her 12 weeks off, which delights her. But then he reveals they’re hiring a replacement therapist (aka a “guest host”) to take over her show, which stresses her out even more.
In the final moments of the episode, we see Colton telling a potential replacement, “Your qualifications are exceptional and we’ll want to give you an on-air audition, but I can already tell you’ve got a great voice for radio….It’s only for 12 weeks, but you never know.” The camera reveals he’s talking to DR. JESSICA BRUNO who seems more than happy to swoop in and cover for Maggie permanently.
In the preview for Season 5, Episode 3, Bruno tells Gary, “I’m up for a new career opportunity.” And Maggie’s assistant explains that she gave Colton her list of potential guest hosts, but he already found someone. When Maggie asks who, her assistant reveals that Bruno got the gig after all. Looks like trouble’s ahead, and Gary is definitely going to need a new therapist.
