Calling all Portland restaurants: Dumpling Week turns 8 next year, and we’re looking for your participation.

To celebrate The Oregonian/OregonLive’s annual celebration of all things wrapped in dough, we’re inviting any and all interested restaurants, food carts and bars to apply to participate in the 2022 festivities. Applications for the event will be accepted through Jan. 3 (fill out the form here). The event takes place Jan. 30-Feb. 5.

As in previous Dumplings Weeks, participating restaurants will serve up special dumplings not available on their regular menus, with each plate going for $12 or less. Options may be offered for dining in, take-out, and a variety of food delivery services.

Previous Dumpling Week specials have included pork and Oregon black truffle wontons, a Galician tuna empanadilla and “Dragon Dumplings,” a Chengdu style shrimp and pork dumplings. We can’t wait to see what the 2022 offerings look like.

In the coming weeks, customers can join the festivities online at, where they can find passports and stickers to play along at home.

Stay tuned for more information about participating restaurants and their dumpling creations. And if you own or manage a restaurant and have a great idea for a dumpling special, apply here.
