Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown Is Coming Back To Morristown

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Where in New Jersey can you get the best beer and barbecue? Barbecue enthusiasts can sample dishes at the Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown at Mennan Arena to find out for themselves.
Returning once again to Morris Township is New Jersey's only festival, featuring all New Jersey craft beer, as well as restaurants, gourmet food trucks, and chefs serving a variety of BBQ and bacon creations for purchase.
The celebration will take place on May 20 (12-1 p.m. for VIP admission, 1-5 p.m. for general admission).
During the competition, participants will showcase their culinary skills, with a panel of judges choosing the best of the best. Competitors will also try to take home "People's Choice" awards for "Best Dish" and "Best Beer."
More than 30 New Jersey breweries will attend, each bringing three styles of beer, one of which is a one-of-a-kind creation made specifically for the event.
Mr. Love Joy, a New Jersey-based cover band, will perform live during the showdown.

The festival will also serve as a benefit for the Chester First Aid Squad, a group of neighborhood volunteers that provides no-cost Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) support to the Chesters on weekdays from 7 p.m. until 5:45 a.m. and throughout the weekend.
Check here for tickets and admission prices. Attendees must be at least 21 and have a picture ID to enter. Dogs, chairs and blankets are all welcome, officials said.
