Cleveland Holiday Market guide: 21 ways to shop local in 2020

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The coronavirus pandemic has certainly affected the local retail scene in Greater Cleveland. But it hasn’t prevented holiday markets from happening. They’re just going to look a little different in 2020.

This year, instead of massive markets in artist lofts, there will be capacity limits, face-mask requirements and advanced registration in place to help limit the spread of the virus at in-person events. Beyond those events, there are online markets to explore and online shops that have been ramped up for the holiday season, in case you’re hoping to stay at home.

We separated our guide to holiday markets into three sections: Online events, combination online / in-person events, and in-person events.

Many markets are tentative due to the pandemic; it’s best to check ahead of time to make sure they’re still going on as planned, especially before visiting any of the in-person events on this list.

Here are 21 holiday markets in Greater Cleveland this year:

ONLINE EVENTS

Shop Holiday Handmade: Online shop

There won’t be an in-person Crafty Mart or Cleveland Bazaar this year, but the two markets have teamed up with Pittsburgh’s I Made It Market to present a new locally focused online shopping website called “Shop Holiday Handmade.” An easy-to-browse catalogue features the different makers participating in the shop, with hyperlinks to their products right there in the shopping guide.
