A blogger with the handle @julesfood posted a review of his claw on Instagram, saying he warmed the already-cooked claw on the grill with a little butter (I'm drooling just thinking about it). It was understandably difficult to break into, but once open, he was able to get a pound-and-a-half of meat out of the three-pound piece, noting the shell itself was hefty too. When he purchased it, it was on sale for $9.99 a pound.

The photos are WILD, even when you consider entire lobsters can weigh up to 44 pounds, per the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

In other lobster facts you might not know: Lobsters are harvested year-round in Maine and New Hampshire, but the prime season is summer. Lobsters migrate closer to shore in warmed waters during this time. All that is to say we may see more giant lobster claws in stores moving into the lobster-harvesting summer months. More widely, Costco sells six-count packs of 1.25-pound live Maine lobsters.
