The pizza topping brand Ezzo Sausage Co. is recalling 25,115 pounds of meat following a test that found listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service.

The ready-to-eat meats included sliced pepperoni, chopped pepperoni and sausage.

The recalled products were made on Oct. 29 and 30. Some were also produced on Nov. 5.

So far, there are no known reports of people getting sick from consuming the affected products. Still, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service is concerned that some remain in distribution centers, restaurants and other institutions.

The agency is urging restaurants and institutions that bought these products not to serve them, but to throw them away or return them.

Consuming food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes can cause serious infections in older adults, the USDA warns. "Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms," the agency said.

If you're unsure if your purchase is under recall, check the product's USDA label for the establishment number "EST. 1838A."
