Great burgers, beer, bobbleheads, a new club and an early Mardi Gras to enjoy this weekend

Hello, weekend. You look beautiful. Not at all like a soot-colored bank of snow that I must climb each time I exit my vehicle.

You look like the break we all need.

You look like a juicy burger with melty American cheese found once a week at a now disclosed location. Keep reading for more of what the weekend has to offer:

Burgers are love

Burgers are the classic meal but finding the right burger? That's an adventure. Carol Deptolla saves you a couple steps by tracking down one of our city's truly great burgers. Foxfire's food truck might be docked for winter but its crew docks at Hawthorne Coffee Roasters each Wednesday through Saturday. The burger is available on Thursday. That's today.

Also today

Get your craft beer on at Sip & Savor tonight, part of the Greater Milwaukee International Car & Truck Show. The special event part of the auto show starts at 7 p.m. and includes a showcase of craft lagers, Pilsners, ales, porters and stouts from 27 breweries and brew pubs in the state. Tickets are $24 at the door. A fresh beer and new car smell — the best start to the weekend.

Free pints

Broken Bat Brewing in the Third Ward will give you a free pint in exchange for your baseball bobblehead. The rules are pretty simple. The bobblehead must be full-sized. It must be baseball-related. It can be gently used or new and the packaging isn't necessary. You have today through Sunday to cash in a bobble for a beer.

Last call

It's last call for the Brew City MKE Beer Museum and Beer Bar. The pilot project part of the Milwaukee Historical Society closes at its Shops of Grand Avenue site on Sunday. It's worth the trip for the insight into the city's beer barons but also for the well-curated menu of local brews.

Fat Friday

Stubby's Gastrogrub and Beer Bar gets the jump on Mardi Gras with Fat Friday, a celebration of overindulgence with live music and alligator nachos. You read that correctly. The party starts at 5 p.m. Bring your own beads.

Opening: Sarah Hauer has details on Campsite 131 which opens at 2 p.m. Friday in the Third Ward serving wine by the glass or bottle; old-fashioneds and drinks with sparkling wines. Oh yeah, also a traditional brandy Alexander and a grasshopper.

Need more?

Here are six things to consider for this weekend. Thanks, Chris Foran.
