Second Harvest Food Bank is to receive a donation of thousands of refrigerated meals Tuesday from a producer founded in Modesto.

Kevin’s Natural Foods, which makes Paleo and Keto-certified entrees, sauces and seasoning blends, announced it is giving more than 6,500 two-serving meals to Second Harvest, which aids residents of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced and the Mother Lode counties.

“Access to nutritious, easy-to-make meals made with clean ingredients during this epic crisis is a necessity for all,” said Kevin McCray, co-founder of Kevin’s, in a news release.

The brand was launched in Modesto, with Dan Costa also a co-founder. Its corporate offices are in Modesto, and its production facility in Stockton.

According to its website, Manteca-based Second Harvest continues to operate, distribute and need volunteers. It is providing gloves to all volunteers handling food at its warehouses and ensuring hand sanitizer is available.

It says it does not anticipate adding special distributions due to COVID-19. “If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please visit www.localfoodbank.org/food-pantry-referrals.html for a list of available distributions throughout San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.

Second Harvest also is providing updates on its “latest news” page.
