On Monday, March 16, Oregon Governor Kate Brown ordered bars and restaurants statewide to close for four weeks starting Tuesday, March 17 as part of the effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Take out, drive-through and delivery will still be allowed, but no onsite consumption of food will be permitted.

Some Salem-area restaurant owners had already been thinking about and planning for such an order from the governor.

"I would rather my restaurant close permanently," than learn someone had been exposed to coronavirus while dining at the restaurant, said Jonathan Jones, co-owner with Maura Ryan of Epilogue Kitchen & Cocktails,

Below is a running list of which area bars, breweries and restaurants will close completely for the time being and which will shift to offering pick-up and/or delivery.
