Taco Bell pulls Big Cheez-It Tostada and Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap early due to huge demand

Less than a week after they debuted at a single location in California, Taco Bell has removed the Big Cheez-It Tostada and Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap from its offerings. But there may be a silver lining to this untimely end.

Rewinding a bit: Taco Bell announced it was doing a collaboration with Kellogg's Cheez-It back in late June. The mashup featured a Cheez-It square that was 16 times the original size, topped with seasoned beef, sour cream, diced tomatoes, lettuce and cheddar cheese, all for $2.49.

There was also a Crunchwrap Supreme version, but let's be real: You were going to get the giant Cheez-It.

Both versions were being tested at a Taco Bell in Irving, Calif. Despite its lack of widespread availability, the mashup got a lot of attention.

That attention apparently led to the end of that limited time offer. The promotional deal was supposed to last for two weeks or until supplies lasted. Monday, the company announced the supplies did not last — but there's some hope.

"While this was a one-restaurant test available to our fans while supplies last, it’s clear that Taco Bell and Cheez-It fans want more of this craveable collaboration! Even though we can’t guarantee that any specific test item will rollout nationwide, at Taco Bell, we never say never!" Taco Bell said in a statement.
