Pizza Hut is building out its pizza-and-beer offensive in advance of the Super Bowl.

The restaurant chain, which began a beer delivery pilot program in 2017, is expanding its test to 300 stores in Florida, Iowa, Nebraska, North Carolina and Ohio, as well as more markets in Arizona and California, where the project began.

Pizza Hut plans to expand beer delivery to 1,000 restaurants by this summer. The announcement comes a month ahead of the Super Bowl, scheduled for Feb. 3 in Atlanta, one of the chain's busiest delivery days each year.

“As the official Pizza Sponsor of the NFL, we’ve been celebrating football fans all season long, so it only makes sense for us to bring more customers the beloved combo of pizza and beer ahead of the Super Bowl,” Marianne Radley, Pizza Hut's chief brand officer, said in a statement. “We are proud to be pioneers of beer delivery and are well-poised to take on more markets in the coming year.”

The current selections available for Pizza Hut beer delivery include: Blue Moon, Bud Light, Budweiser, Busch Light, Coors Light, Corona Extra, Michelob Ultra, Miller Lite, Miller High Life, Shock Top, Stella Artois and Four Peaks Kilt Lifter.

Customers can place orders through the Pizza Hut mobile app (on Android and iOS), on PizzaHut.com or by phone.

Pizza Hut is among several food chains adding alcohol to menus to spur consumer spending. Pizza Hut already serves beer and wine at about 3,500 of its sit-down restaurants.

Other chain restaurants, such as Taco Bell, Shake Shack and Chipotle Mexican Grill, have also tested serving beer and other alcoholic beverages, including frozen mixed drinks.
