Cloth Napkins Are Back on the Table in Kentucky Restaurants

Kentucky governor Andy Beshear published a document with all of his requirements for restaurants to reopen. It included the now-familiar requests regarding social distancing, hand sanitizer stations, and face masks. But he also recommended that fabric tablecloths and napkins be replaced with disposable options. But some have questioned that, especially those whose livelihoods involve selling or cleaning tablecloths and napkins.Universal Linen, which provides table linens, says that the company ensures that every item they clean is bacteria-free.But on Friday morning, the Kentucky Restaurant Association said cloth napkins were, quite literally, back on the table. As long as the are changed and cleaned after each customer, restaurants will be able to continue to use them. That could turn out to be a boon for linen-sanitizing services in Kentucky
