Mother who created a cult skin serum to help cancer patients while battling the disease dies a year after being given the all-clear

Kate McIver, 30, from Chester North Wales, had been given the all-clear after beating stage 4 breast cancer, but a year later she relapsed on she died on Tuesday. 

She leaves behind her husband Chris and daughter Lucia.  

Her family announced the sad news with a heartbreaking post on her official Instagram account, prompting a flood of tributes from celebrities including Lisa Snowdon, Natasha Hamilton and Sheree Murphy. 

'It’s with a truly, truly broken heart I have to say that my beautiful wife, Kate, sadly lost her battle with cancer and has so cruelly been taken away from me, our daughter, her family and friends,' wrote husband Chris.

'Lucia will be without her mummy in body, but never in spirit. Kate adored Lucia more than words can begin to describe, everything she accomplished and worked for was for her - this, Lucia will always know,' he added. 

'I want to thank everybody for their support over the last couple years. Your messages of support throughout helped Kate and I to stay strong and realize how many people loved and were rooting for us.' 

'Your generosity in fund raising has been overwhelming and difficult to comprehend. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.'

'Anybody that had the pleasure of knowing Kate personally will know how incredibly passionate she was for things she cared for - particularly her family and friends, but also for raising awareness of this horrible, horrible disease to prevent other families from suffering what has become our reality. 

'Please remember Kate for the truly amazing person she was and will always be, but also as a reminder that this disgusting disease is indiscriminate and you should check for any changes regularly - both men and women.

Messages of support have now flooded the post, with many paying homage to the 'amazing' woman. 

The Stage 4 cancer survivor created the Secret Weapon Serum during her battle with breast cancer, as she wanted a product that would protect her skin from chemotherapy.  

The mother-of-one - who has four-year-old Lucia lived with her husband Chris and daughter said: 'Chemotherapy can save your life but, because it is such a powerful treatment, it can have a detrimental effect on your body, especially on your skin.' 

Celebrities, including model Lisa Snowdon, newlywed Billie Faiers, as well as Vicky Pattison and Jessica Hayes have fallen head over heels for the product.

While the Limited Edition version has additional ingredients to boost healing properties, such as turmeric and frankincense.

The businesswoman has gone the extra mile with her release, as she has pledged 10 per cent of sales will be donated to Coppafeel Charity, after donating a whopping £5,000 to Cancer Research following the sales.  

Now stars have taken to social media to show off their bare faces before and after using the serum, to show off just how radiant their skin is.

Other customers are also swooning over the serum, with one praising the product as a 'miracle' for bringing her skin 'back from the depths of despair.'
