In a news conference in West Palm Beach Friday, Governor Ron DeSantis said 700 people who recently returned from China have been monitored in Florida.
Of those, 150 people are still being monitored and 15 people have tested negative.
Four people, who may have been exposed in China, have exhibited possible symptoms and are awaiting test results, officials said.

Those being monitored must isolate themselves and stay at least six feet away from others at all times.
They must also check their temperature twice a day, and contact the state if they experience symptoms like coughing or a fever.

DeSantis addressed concerns that, as of now, the state can’t test for the virus locally.
“We’ve been able to manage it. Everything goes to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and back, but to the extent that this becomes a bigger problem, we want to be able to do local testing, and I know they’re working on that,” DeSantis said.
