TINLEY PARK, IL — A drive-thru coronavirus testing center has opened in Tinley Park, and offers same day rapid testing results, PCR testing and hopes to soon offer the COVID-19 vaccine.

On Monday, NAS Testing Center, located 7460 Duvan Drive in Tinley Park, opened its doors for COVID-19 testing to take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, according to its website.

The center offers PCR testing, with results in 1-3 days, rapid testing at a rate of $125 dollars and antibody testing. Booking an appointment is required before attending.

Manager Mousa Sweis told Patch the facility is different from others because when a patient tests positive for the virus, a doctor from Southwest Urgent Care is available to be seen at any of his offices — located in Evergreen Park, Oak Lawn and Oak Forest. Sweis said the doctor may be able to help patients manage symptoms, saying not many facilities offer follow-up physician care if needed.

"Our scheduling system is very efficient and smooth. It makes testing a lot more comfortable and easier," Sweis said.

The center states online that to stop the pandemic, testing needs to be offered right away, without long lines, and provide quick results. The testing facility said it may seem simple, but calls this suggested practice rare.

"We pride ourselves on being driven and innovative to help our communities live a better and safer environment," the online statement reads. "Our affiliated lab partners are CLIA and CMS accredited. Our process is patient focused, and allows you to get tested quickly and get your results fast and simple."

Sweis said the facility is hopeful it can distribute the vaccine next, if it becomes available to the center. He said the goal is to make it similar to a "one-stop shop," that offers all testing and a vaccine to the public. The manager said the facility also wants to give back to the community through its "vision to help uplift people during these strange times."

"Our goal is to be part of the solution, not the problem. We believe more ideas will come, and we are always open to hearing what the community wants," Sweis said. "We started by getting an easy flow drive-thru testing site. We want to bridge people together. Compassion and love is what motivates us."

To book an appointment, visit the NAS Testing Center website. On the day of the appointment, patients will drive up, get tested, then drive out without having to leave their car. For more information, visit the NAS Testing Center Facebook page, or call (708) 649-0333.
